How To Make Them
The best part about this recipe is that it requires minimal ingredients, and a few steps to make these zaatar crescent rolls. They’re ready in 15 minutes!
Step 1 – Make The Cheesy Za’atar Mix
Mix the za’atar with olive oil in a bowl. Add vegan mozzarella cheese. Fold to combine.
Step 2 – Prepare The Crescent Rolls
Place the crescent triangle dough on a flat surface. Using a tablespoon, spread the filling onto the crescent dough (each triangle) – leaving a small space around the edges.
Roll it up tightly. Fold inwards to shape like a crescent. Lightly brush with leftover za’atar and oil.
Step 3 – Bake or Air Fry
Place on a sheet pan with parchment paper to bake at 350 F for 12 to 14 mins. Remove and let cool down.
Tip: To air fry, lower temperature settings to 325 F for 10 minutes – until golden on top.

Equipment:
– Air Fryer or Sheet Pan
Ingredients
1/3 cup za’atar
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup vegan mozzarella
1 tube (8 triangles) of Pillsbury crescents
Directions
- Mix the za’atar with olive oil in a bowl. Add vegan mozzarella cheese. Fold to combine.
- Place the crescent triangle dough on a flat surface.
- Using a tablespoon, spread the filling onto the crescent dough (each triangle) – leaving a small space around the edges.
- Roll it up tightly. Fold inwards to shape like a crescent. Lightly brush with leftover za’atar and oil.
- Place on a sheet pan with parchment paper to bake at 350 F for 12 to 14 mins. Remove and let cool down – See Notes (1).
Notes
- (1) Air Fryer
The air fryer I use has a bake option that allows me to use a smaller basket for small-batches to bake – as well as air fry. If you choose to air fry instead of using the bake option on the air fryer, reduce the temperature to 325 F, and cook for no more than 10 minutes – until top is golden.
